Waterloo Region Tactical Team Pays a Visit

Today, Heather and I had a rather rude wake up call as the Waterloo region tactical team broke down the door of a house about three doors down. Honestly it sounded like two bombs went off, the entire house shook.

Heather and I had no idea what had just happened, Heather thought there a basket ball net getting put in.  She then looked out a window and saw cars parked all over the place and people walking around with guns. She asked me to come and look and look and sure enough the tactical squad was raiding a house.

Looks like no one was home at the time of the raid, by 10:00 or the police had put door back on and left. I am sure they left a nice note also on the dinning room table “sorry about the door.”

We don’t know what the purpose of the raid was, but since there was Durham region police cruiser around also I am thinking it was an arrest warrant of some sort.

Talking to neighbors afterwards we found out that just down the street last week there had been hanging in the woods that is currently getting treated like a homicide. Last year there was a drive by shooting pretty close also…

Heather jokes that the area is so safe, there is also was police cruisers around. When I had moved in I had said I would not be here long since I do not like the area, this most recent incident maybe pushing up that time table a little.
