I lost my Jabra BT 250V about a week ago, not sure what happened to it and I am sure it will show now that I have gotten a new blue tooth headset for my Blackberry. I really liked the Jabra BT 250V it was large had great battery life and sound quality was pretty good. It was also pretty cool looking.
I was going to get another BT250V but it was going to take too long to come in, over two weeks and I cannot really be without a headset. When I am driving I am often on the phone talking to clients or the office and in Ontario you really do not want to get caught using a Blackberry while driving even if you are just talking on it.
So I picked up a Plantronics Discovery 655 Bluetooth headset which is Palntronics latest headset. I have had it for a day and so far I really like it. The sound quality is just as good as my Jabra BT250V was and no one has complained about not being able to head me.
In the box it comes with a standard AC charger and also a USB charger so you can connect it to your PC. One of nicer features is that it comes with a portable charger that you put an AAA battery in and you can use this to charge the head set. Really a nice option for people who are on the road a lot, apparently a AAA battery can fully charge the headset three times. One thing I really like about the Discovery 655 is that is it connect to my Blackberry really easily and when you charge it does not lose its connection. One thing that always annoyed me about the Jabra BT250V was that when you charged it would drop its connection to your phone. It was also a pain at times to get connect properly with you often having to set all of your Bluetooth connections .
My one complaint is that the website clearly says that this unit comes with a car charger, but mine did not. I presume I ordered one that did not come with one, but still it is annoying that it did not come with. I probably would not have used it since my Mazda 3 GT Sedan only has a single outlet and my GPS unit is generally plugged into it.
My other complaint about it, or rather observation more than anything is that this head is extremely small about the length of a business card actually. I can see that it is going to be extremely easy to lose this ear piece and at about $100.00 it is a little expensive to lose.
Any bets on how long it will take me? I lost my Jabra which was twice the size in three months.

You can put the stabilizing ear loop on the headset and it will not fall off.
Thanks for the comment Paula, I can wear the ear loop as an alternative. But in my office we have several Plantronics ear pieces and the common complain about the ear loop is it tend to break. It is not the most durable piece of plastic and if we have had several snap when the user put them on.
That was actually one of the reasons I went with the Jabra unit, it does not have a ear loop or need one.
