We have a client who likes to source his own hardware and just use my company for assembly and configuration. Which is fine since the mark up on hardware is pretty low and generally there is no problem with the hardware, it generally a generation or two out of date.
A server arrived today from the client and we where to configure it to be a new backup server, the only trick was the tape drive would not physically fit in the unit. We called the client and told him that there a problem and that he would need to source a new tape drive. There response was there any way that we could jerry rig something and just make it work. The pictures below sum our solution to the problem =).

That looks like a good solution to me! I like the masking tape. Is that a “tape backup”? yuk yuk yuk….
