Today the company I worked for, Orbex Computer Systems, hosted the Cisco Now Van in Cambridge Ontario. For those of you who do not know what the know Now Van is, it is basically a datacenter in the back of van. This is gives Cisco the ability to demonstrate their IP telephony / IP Communications, Security solutions, mobility solutions, management solutions and LAN technology. The really cool thing about the Cisco Now Van is that you can touch and feel the equipment, you want to play with Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances (ASA) you can on the Now Van.
We invited a number of clients to the Now Van and everyone really found it an interesting and useful experience. It is not often that you get touch and feel this equipment; reading about it on the internet is just not the same. This really makes the Now Van an awesome sales tool and all Cisco partners really should leverage it.
Cisco’s IP communication solutions / IP Telephony really stole the day, in my opinion they have the best IP technology on the market. It scales from 8 seats up to 30,000 seats; no other provider has an enterprise class solution that scales like this. Cisco’s latest break through is telepresence, see the below video’s simply amazing.
Heather knew I took my camera to the event and was little shocked when she found I had more pictures of equipment then pictures. She just does not understand this stuff is really cool and I love technology.
