Heather has wanted us to get a dog for a long time, I fully know one of the reasons is to train me to have children. I have always been very reluctant to get a dog since we are not home that much and did not want to deal with training issues.
About a month ago Heather got me to got the Kitchener / Waterloo Humane society with her to see what they had up for adoption. I am not a big fan of going to humane society since I feel sorry for the animals there. Anyway we went, there was a cat that hated me, it would hiss at me every time I walked nears its cage, but seemed to like Heather.
Anyway we got the dogs and one little dog really stood out it was just really cute, did not really look like a dog. After thinking about it I decided we would take it out for a walk and see if she liked us, I was hoping she would not. But she really like Heather and I, we later found out she had been dropped off at the Humane Society because her owners where moving and could not take her with them. We later found out that there was a second dog from the house up for adoption also.
Heather did not like the idea of splitting up the pair so we took him out also, he was Jack Russell Terrier cross and acted like one. Was extremely hyper and was attacking other dogs and the two dogs did not seem to really like each other.
So we decided we would just adopt Coco, the name she came with, who is a five year female cross between the Jack Russell Terrier and a Chihuahua. The nice thing about getting a dog is that she was house broken to be honest we have not really had any issues with her.
She now has the run of the house when Heather and I are at work and it nice to have someone excited to see you when you come home.
One things is very clear that she is Heather’s dog, if we are both home she pretty much ignores me, while she follows Heather around.
